Audiobook: Fiestas and Siestas Miles Apart

After recording the audiobook of Nemesis last year, I’ve been looking for more opportunities in that area. At the beginning of this year, I recorded a short audiobook on British garden birds; and in the middle of April, I started work on the audiobook for Fiestas and Siestas Miles Apart, by Alan Cuthbertson. This is a humorous non-fiction book about Alan and his family’s decision to move from Britain to Spain, with plenty of anecdotes about the difficulties encountered, and the culture of the Spanish countryside.

I very much enjoyed doing this audiobook. The material itself was great fun to record, but there was also the challenge involved. It required me to practice a range of accents: not only Spanish, but Yorkshire and Scottish. There were also plenty of Spanish words to be pronounced correctly: the Spanish evening course I did in preparation for my first trip to Guatemala came in handy!

Fiestas and Siestas Miles Apart is currently available on Audible and Amazon.

About velociraptor256

Hi, my name's Richard. I created this blog to talk about my interests - and I have quite a few of those. I love zoology in general, herpetology in particular (especially snakes!), writing (have won National Novel Writing Month seven times so far, plus three Camp Nanowrimos), reading, astronomy, palaeontology, and travel. Thank you for coming to my blog, and I hope you find something that interests you here!
