His Pick, Her Pick – Horror

This week, Rachel Wagner – whom I’ve already been doing the Harry Potter film podcasts with – kindly invited me to take part in her ‘His Pick, Her Pick’ series: we would pick a film from a certain genre that the other hadn’t seen, watch, then discuss them both.

Since it’s October, the chosen genre was horror. I don’t tend to watch many horror movies, but I thought Rachel would like The Haunting, which I watched last year. She, in turn, recommended The Others, another haunted house film which is similar to The Haunting in many ways, not least the lack of reliance on jump scares and blood n’ guts.

We both enjoyed each other’s picks, and though I wasn’t sure how I’d get on in a one-to-one discussion rather than the four-way chat we’ve had for Harry Potter, we both had plenty to say and it proved to be good fun. Thanks for inviting me, Rachel!
